Bunk-er Down

Effort: 10 minutesSleeping in economy class on a 17-hour flight has always been pretty rough... until now. In late 2026, Air New Zealand is launching the world's first economy "Skynest" sleep pods: triple-stacked bunk beds you can book in 4-hour shifts for around $495 on ultra-long-haul flights between Auckland and New York. The pods are 80 inches long, 23 inches wide, and come with pillows, sheets, and a gentle "lights up" warning when your time is up. But Skynest is just one of many cabin upgrades airlines are testing right now. Premium economy seats, lie-flat business class, giant 27-inch 4K screens, mood lighting, in-flight lounges, which features are actually worth the money? Here's your task: You're an aviation reporter ranking cabin features for the world's most opinionated travel magazine. Build a tier list, then propose what airlines should invent next. Your Submission Must Include: Your Tier List: Pick 8 cabin features (Skynest pods, recliner seats, free meals, big screens, free Wi-Fi, mood lighting, kids' play zone, USB charging, etc.) and rank them on a tier list (S / A / B / C / D) by how worth-it they are. Sketch it, type it up, or use a free tier-list maker. Be sure to include a shareable link if digital. Your Reasoning: Pick your S-tier (best) choice and your D-tier (worst) choice and explain in 1-2 sentences each why they earned that spot. Your "Next Big Feature" Pitch: Propose ONE new economy upgrade Air New Zealand should add next. Give it a catchy name and write a 2-sentence pitch. More
