Anime characters don’t just look cool; they are designed to show who they are on the inside. Before a character speaks, their colors, clothing, and style already tell us something about their personality, values, or role in the story. This is called visual identity, and it’s a core skill in graphic design. Designers use visuals to communicate meaning quickly, without relying on words.

Today, visual identity is everywhere. Think of brands, celebrities, and influencers. As you get closer to graduation, reflecting on identity becomes important for essays, interviews, and career goals. Anime offers a creative and low-pressure way to explore the question “Who am I, and how do I want to be seen?”

Your Task:
You will create a mini vision board that represents you as an anime character and communicates your identity through visual design, or explain your anime character's design.

1: Define the “You”
Think about yourself right now or the version of yourself you are becoming. Write one short phrase that describes you.
Examples: “Quiet but determined,” “Creative under pressure,” “Still figuring it out,” “Leader in progress.”

2: Choose 3 Visual Design Choices
Imagine you are being designed as an anime character. Choose three visual design elements you would include. These might be:
• Clothing or outfit style
• Hairstyle or silhouette
• Accessories or symbols
• A color palette
• Facial expression or body language

3: Create Your Vision Board
If possible, using Google Slides, Canva, or another tool of your choice, create a single slide that includes the suggestions below. If you can't create something, describe how you would create your anime character:
• Show or explain Images, icons, colors, or objects that represent your 3 design choices
• Add one short statement to your slide that explains how your design choices represent who you are or who you’re becoming.

Sentence starter:
“My anime character design shows that I am ______ because ______.”
