There’s no shortage of interesting tourist attractions in the U.S., but some are stranger than others. And while the destination might not be as popular as the Statue of Liberty or the Grand Canyon, they’ll certainly make for good stories when you return home. Here are a few that you might find interesting:

Clown Motel, Tonopath, Nevada
If you don’t suffer from coultophobia (a fear of clowns), you’ll find a stay here unforgettable. The hotel features more than 2,000 clowns.

Big Things in a Small Town, Casey, Illinois
Check out he world’s largest rocking chair, mailbox, barbershop pole, and teeter totter. You can see these curiosities as well as other large items, such as a mousetrap, horseshoes, and knitting needles, among many others.

Musical Highway, Tijeras, New Mexico
On this unique stretch of Route 66, you’ll find the musical highway designed to get motorists to slow down using rumble strips placed at precise intervals to play the classic tune, America the Beautiful, as long as motorists maintain a speed of 45 mph.

Your Task:
What’s your idea for a bizarre attraction in your town? Talk with a partner and come up with a quirky attraction for your town. Describe it in 5-8 sentences. Remember that you and your partner each have to submit your idea to win $100.
