More companies are experimenting with a 4-day workweek; working fewer days while keeping the same pay. The goal? Improve work-life balance, reduce burnout, and boost productivity. Some say it’s the future of work. Others worry it won’t work for every job or industry.
Consider the benefits of a 4-day workweek. For example: more free time, less stress, more focused work, etc. Now, consider some of the challenges. For example: tight deadlines, longer workdays, and harder for customer service jobs. Do you think the 4-day workweek is the future, or just a trend for certain industries?

Your Task
1. Imagine that your school is considering a 4-day school week with longer days. Would you support this change? Why or why not?
2. How might it affect students, teachers, families, and learning?
3. Write a letter to your school board explaining your position on the issue.
