From Red Bull to Monster to Celsius, energy drinks are everywhere and teens are chugging them like water. But doctors say these supercharged sips can be trouble, leading to racing hearts, jitters, sleepless nights, and caffeine cravings you can’t shake. Some countries and schools have already said “nope” to anyone under 18 buying them. Should more places put the brakes on energy drinks for teens?

Your Task:
1. Work with a partner to discuss the pros and cons of reasons to ban and not to ban energy drinks for teens.
2. Develop an argument for “ban them” vs “keep them legal”. You might consider if protecting teens’ health is more important than freedom of choice or who is responsible: teens, parents, or companies?
3. Write your argument for or against banning energy drinks for teens.
