Choosing a college can feel overwhelming. There are thousands of colleges across the United States, and visiting all of them would take years! That’s why resources like The Princeton Review can help students compare schools. Since 1992, the organization has surveyed thousands of college students about their real experiences on campus. Their rankings cover everything from financial aid and career services to campus food, professors, and even beautiful campuses. Instead of just looking at rankings or popularity, students are encouraged to think about what matters most to them personally when choosing a college or future path.

Your Task
Imagine you are creating your own “Best Fit College Guide” for students your age.

Choose the top 5 things you think students should consider when picking a college, trade school, certification program, or future career path.

Include:
1. Your top 5 factors
2. Why each factor matters
3. Which factor would matter most to you personally and why

Some ideas could include:
- Cost and financial aid
- Career opportunities
- Location
- Campus culture
- Sports or clubs
- Diversity and inclusion
- Internship opportunities
- Food or housing
- Online learning options
- Mental health support

Bonus Challenge
Do you think college rankings are actually helpful, or can they sometimes pressure students into choosing schools that aren’t the best fit for them?

Career Connections

- Career Counselors
- Admissions Officers
