When KPop Demon Hunters premiered on Netflix in June 2025, it quickly became the platform’s most-watched movie ever, earning over 236 million global views.
Produced with Sony Pictures Animation, the film follows HUNTR/X, a fictional K-pop girl group who perform by day and battle supernatural threats by night. Its soundtrack, featuring artists like EJAE and Audrey Nuna, made history with four songs in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time.

The film won Best Animated Movie at the Golden Globe Awards, and the song “Golden” became the first K-pop track ever nominated for an Academy Award. With a sequel already in progress, the movie has raised the bar for what streaming films can achieve.
