emojis

Emojis have become a universal language, allowing people to express their emotions, ideas, and cultures with just a single icon. However, not everyone feels represented by the current selection. What if you could create a brand-new emoji that speaks to a group or feeling that’s been overlooked? Imagine the impact of adding your unique design to the global emoji keyboard! This challenge invites you to think deeply about culture, diversity, and communication, and to design an emoji that could make a big difference in how people express themselves.

Your Task:
Your mission is to pitch a new emoji to the Unicode Consortium—the official body that approves all emojis. Think about a culture, emotion, or idea that isn’t currently represented and create an emoji that fills that gap. Once you’ve got your idea, write a brief pitch explaining why this emoji is needed, who it would represent, and how it could be used by people around the world. Provide a quick sketch or two of what the emoji might look like. Be creative, thoughtful, and make sure your emoji tells a story!
