Meal Marketing

Do you partake in an epic feast known on Thanksgiving? It's the star of the show for many Americans! Think turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, salad, apple pie, and pumpkin pie. But, have you ever wondered why we all eat the same meal? Enter marketing!

Believe it or not, the first Thanksgiving ads helped shape the feast we all know and love today!

• In the 1920s, turkey was the only meat advertised.

• Early ads for Eatmor Cranberry Company dominated the market for cranberries as the perfect complement to turkey. In the 1930s, Ocean Spray stole the show.
  
  Your Task:

1. What’s on your Thanksgiving table (or another celebration if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving)?

2. See some example ads - from the past to the present.

3. Create an Ad to promote one item on your table.

4. Come up with a slogan.

5. Create a design using Canva, or another tools of your choice.
