A recent study by Greenpeace in 2022 found that each person throws away about 309 pounds of plastic every year, and 95% of this plastic ends up in places like landfills and oceans or broken down into harmful particles. You can learn from James Harris, who started his own recycling business or look at what the company Ridwell is doing to help.

Your Task:

  1. Learn and Get Ideas: Check out what people like James Harris and companies like Ridwell are doing to fight plastic waste. Think about how they help the environment by recycling.

  2. Create Your Plan: Consider starting a business that recycles food containers in your neighborhood. How will you make sure it works well, doesn't cost too much, and helps people in your area? Use this template to put your ideas into a plan.

  3. Explain Your Business: Write 1-2 paragraphs pitching your recycling business idea. Describe how it will work, keep food containers out of trash dumps, and why it's good for your community.
