Did you know chewing gum might actually help you get better grades? Some researchers believe chewing gum can improve focus, memory, and concentration, especially while studying for a test.

There’s even a popular memory trick connected to gum and learning. Here’s how it works:
- While studying, chew a specific flavor of gum.
-Then, during the test, chew the exact same flavor again.

Some scientists believe the flavor and smell can help trigger your brain to remember information from when you were studying. This idea is connected to “memory cues,” where your brain links information to certain experiences, smells, sounds, or tastes.

For example, if you studied math while chewing peppermint gum, chewing peppermint gum during the test might help your brain recall what you learned. While this trick may not magically guarantee an A+, many students use small focus habits like music, snacks, routines, or gum to help them concentrate.
