10-17E - Social Media Filters

Do you use social media? We're sure you know how social media has a big influence on how we see ourselves and that sometimes it can make us feel bad about ourselves. Perhaps you’ve looked on social media and thought: “Wow! That person looks so good.” Well, they might naturally look good, but more often, they’re filtered or edited to wipe out their imperfections. While filters can be fun, they might also harm our self-image and mental health.

Choose a social media app, such as TikTok, Instagram, or Snapchat) and a filter that you are familiar with and convince a social media company to remove, keep, change, or add a new filter to their toolset. If you don't use social media or are unfamiliar with filters, select one of the example filters below.

Give three strong reasons why the company should remove, keep, change, or add a new filter to their app.

#jawlinecheck - add a jawline to your face
#popularmakeuptrends - add makeup to your face
#peachvibe - change your skin tone
#spiritanimal - change yourself to a spirit animal
