Phishing, vishing, and smishing are all different types of cyber attacks, but do you know what they really mean?
Phishing is when attackers try to trick you into revealing personal information, like passwords or credit card numbers, by pretending to be someone you trust (often via email).
Vishing is phishing but over the phone, where scammers impersonate legitimate organizations to steal information.
Smishing is similar, but it happens via text message (SMS), where scammers send fake messages to try to get you to click on dangerous links or share personal data.
While these terms are important to know, the world of cybercrime is always evolving. What if we could create a new word for a new type of cyber attack? Your job is to come up with a unique word ending in "-ishing" that describes a new type of cyber attack.
Your Task:
Your mission: Create a word for a new type of attack that ends in “-ishing.” It should be easy to remember, but also clever and descriptive of the kind of trickery involved. For example:
Frishing – A scam where someone pretends to be your friend online to steal your private information.
After you’ve come up with your new word, describe what the attack looks like, why your term is memorable, and how it could help raise awareness.
