Investors have limited money, so they have to decide where to put it to get the best return. A portfolio is the mix of investments someone holds at once, and smart investors spread their money across different areas instead of putting it all in one place, a strategy called diversification. Putting everything into a single investment can pay off big, but it’s also the riskiest way to invest, since one bad outcome can wipe out everything. Your time and energy work the same way, and this year you’ve got 100 points to invest.

Your Task:
Divide 100 points across five investments for the school year ahead.

  • Academics: classes, studying, projects.

  • Activities: sports, clubs, jobs, volunteering.

  • Friends & Relationships: making connections and spending time with people.

  • Rest & Recharge: downtime and healthy routines.

  • Something New: learning a skill, joining something new, or exploring an interest.

Your points must add up to exactly 100.

Investment Thesis: pick the one area you’re most excited about and write 4-5 sentences on why you’re investing in it, what return you hope for by year’s end, and what tradeoffs you made (what got fewer points, and why).
