Exercise isn’t just about playing sports. It’s about moving your body. One of the biggest benefits of being active is how it helps your heart. When you move, your heart gets stronger, pumps blood better, and doesn’t have to work as hard. The American Heart Association (AHA) says teens should get at least 60 minutes of movement each day. Being active can lower the risk of heart disease later in life and can help you focus, feel better, and have more energy right now. You don’t have to do all 60 minutes at once or only in P.E. class. Short bursts of activity during the school day can add up and make a real difference for your heart
Your Task:
Imagine you’re a student ambassador for the AHA. Your task is to write a proposal that encourages high school students to get 60 minutes of heart‑pumping physical activity each day. You have a $1,000 budget to buy any items needed to support your plan.
Your Submission: Make sure your proposal includes:
Physical Activity Plan: Explain how students will reach 60 minutes of physical activity during the school day. Include when the activities will happen and how long they will last. They can be spread out across the day.
Budget Breakdown: List how you would spend the money (equipment, space setup, incentives, etc.). Use estimates and categories; you don’t need a detailed item‑by‑item list.
