Introduction: Like Fleischer Scholars, you need to “mine” for scholarships to attend college or career school without the crushing debt.
Smart scholarship miners don’t just rely on luck or generic Google searches. They use AI technology to supercharge their search process to uncover hidden gems and opportunities (and organize their discoveries like pros).
Scholarships exist for every type of post-secondary path—from trade schools and community colleges to Ivy League universities—and for almost every talent, story, or trait imaginable. But most students only find the obvious ones.
That’s where AI comes in. AI tools can help you:
Brainstorm search terms
Discover hidden scholarships
Organize what to apply to next
But remember: AI is your assistant—not your replacement. You’re still leading the work and the way. Check out this process graphic to learn more.
Your Task: Build your personal scholarship mining system.
Step 1: Create your "scholarship DNA" - the unique combination that helps you find targeted opportunities:
Your intended major/career field
Your city/state/region
Your heritage/background
Your hobbies, activities, and unique traits
Your family situation (first-gen college, military, single parent, etc.)
Any challenges you've overcome
Step 2: Using your scholarship DNA, write a specific prompt asking AI to find scholarships for your profile that work for ALL types of college. (If you are in 9th or 10th grade, you can ask about scholarships to prepare for years in advance.)
Step 3: Enter your prompt into ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, etc. (or what’s allowable by your teacher, school, or parent/guardian), then ask it to help you develop a plan to prepare and apply for the three scholarships that appeal to you most.
Submit Your Response: Submit your plan and identify how you'll leverage AI technology responsibly to maximize your scholarship success.
